2012

Summer 2012

The weather was generally better this year than last, although there were a number of days when the wind was very strong.

Again, the idea was to head north, and perhaps go across to western Sweden.

However, when we got to the boat we found several plumbing issues, which took a long time to sort out, and caused us delay.

Annabel’s brother, Martin, came over with our son Tom a couple of weeks after we arrived at Augustenborg. Normally we would have finished the preparations by then, but we had to sort out firstly the fresh water supply, and secondly the loo.

We eventually got going, and Martin left the boat when we arrived at Arhus. Phil and Sarah joined us there, and we headed north. After a night in Grenaa, we headed towards the mouth of the Limfjord, but were set back by strong winds on the nose.

We decided that there wasn’t enough time left to venture north again, so we headed south and around in to Ebeltoft marina.

Heading south again, we visited Tuno where we spent a delightful few days.

Heading south still, we faced more strong winds, this time from the south, and spent a couple of days at anchor in Horsens fjord.

Then south again, staying at Middelfart for one night to refuel, then back to the anchorage south of Assens which we like, before another night at anchor at the top of Als fjord.

Then we were back in Augustenborg to get the boat ready for winter.
